Life’s curveballs can hit very, very hard. And at times, it can take the wind out of some people that it’s quite difficult for them to get back up. But as they say, “The show must go on.” Life goes on. And it’s up to the people to stand up, dust themselves off, and move along—preferably with a smile.
At times, one can be so fortunate to be a recipient of life’s seemingly unlimited hits that it’s easy to just throw the towel in and say, “That’s it, I’m done.” For example, a family member got seriously sick just in time when you lost your job (and with it the medical benefits that could have been helpful at this time). That’s two in one. And while at it, because you’re reeling from the left and right hit of bad news, you were walking with confused state of mind, you got robbed.
Wretched
“What did I that was so bad that I deserve these?” you may ask. And even when you know you could not hurt a fly, you still were dealt with bad cards. At this point, it’s kind of difficult to see a silver lining when you no longer have a financial source and the remaining money you have on your pocket disappeared when there’s one waiting for you to help them out. What would you be hopeful for?
Hang in there a bit more
You lost a job, not a life. You could find another job, but you won’t find another life. Your family member who got sick could still get help. They are still alive. And the money that was stolen is better than a life stolen. These may not be the first things that would come up in your head, but changing your mindset to be a bit more positive could help for you not to lose hope.
Things may not go according to your own plan, but things happen for a reason: for you to learn something out of life. Experiencing the negative circumstances will make you appreciate the positive ones that will arrive. Hold on to the tiny flicker of hope that things will get better after. It may not be as soon as tomorrow, but it will happen. There will be people and occurrences that will make you think about being wretched. And a simple smile from a stranger may change your negative impression about life. Be kind and be hopeful. You will not always be sitting at the bottom.
